I have locs that are about midway down my back (im a 6'1" male), and when i used the cap in puerto rico it did what it was supposed to do for the most part. The nape of my neck was a little damp, but nothing crazy. The sun dried it out relatively quickly. I ONLY used it for snorkeling though, and this was in various water conditions (I.e, high tide, low tide, morning, night, rougher waters, really calm waters, etc) and it help up well. Its cheap, effective, and it got here super fast. Its FOR SURE not going to win you any fashion contests (i kind of felt like the odd man out considering all the locals just ran into the ocean with nothing covering their locs).Around Day 7 or 8, i stopped wearing it, but it was not due to it not working, more so as me wanting to experience the water as completely as i could. Would recommend for use for types 4c hair with really bulky dreads.

I got one for myself and my children. Even though we didn't cover our ears, it kept our hair dry after hours of swimming in the pool. We all have locs so that's why I got it. It's nice that I didn't have to wash my locs after each swim. It feels tight at first but then relaxes. You can still feel it on your head but it isn't unbearable. Easy to put on. Quality is a nice thick silicone. And protects our hair from the water.

It’s pretty tight so it keeps MOST of the water out. However, when going underwater some water tends to still sink in. Also, I’m sure this is an issue with all swim caps, but you can’t really go UNDER water because it keeps your head afloat.

Update: *i went swimming & This cap kept all of my locs fully dry! great purchase!* I have very long natural dreadlocks down to my butt.(had them for 22 years). Swimming has become harder since my hair got so long. Although it was a struggle to put on this swim cap( I have so much hair), I love how snug it feels. This swim cap holds my hair nice and snuggly in place!

I just got my hair highlighted, and I can’t go into the pool with it bleached. A friend invited me to swim and I bought this cap hoping that I would be able to enjoy going to the pool and still save my hair. I looked at so many different ones before eventually picking this one. It was a disappointing purchase. I struggled with this thing for hours! You can’t put it directly on your hair, or your hair will get ripped out of your head, it’s so tight on your scalp that it mushes your forehead skin together and it makes you look like a crazy person and it’s so tight that it gave me a migraine after 5 minutes of wearing it. I found a soft cap to put underneath of it to save my hair from getting ripped out of my head, and I decided to endure the headache and looking ridiculous just so that I could save my hair and still go to the pool. I went into the pool and it was a total fail! I don’t know how a cap can be so tight but not stay in one place! It was constantly moving! I had to pull it back up and down and all around a million times because it wouldn’t stay put for a single minute! I wasn’t in the pool very long, and when I got out and finally took the cap off, my hair was wet underneath. And I made sure that cap was perfectly adjusted for no water to seep in. Oh well, it was all for nothing. And it wasn’t the fault of the soft cover I had underneath, because that cover ended up getting pushed into the back anyways and it had nothing to do with this cap’s performance. All in all, it was a nightmare to deal with this stupid thing. Worst $10 I’ve ever spent!
