Love this flywheel...let's my engine rev so much faster and makes if feel much more responsive. Engine moves through the entire rev range faster and smoother. Now the downsides (IF you can really call them downsides) ....the revs fall just as quick as they rise. So you have to shift faster than you would if you had the stock FW. Which really isnt a problem when going WOT, but when you're just cruising and shifting at lower RPMs, if you dont shift quick enough your rpms will drop so fast that you have to blip the throttle to rev match or you'll have a rough engagement. So it seems like you dont know how to drive to people around you(especially if your exhaust is loud like mine). If you shift quickly at part throttle people think you're trying to race them and will either think you're an idiot and give you the stink eye, or they'll take off and look at you smiling like they just beat you in a race. Which I don't really care about but it gets annoying when have car full of high school kids next to you laughing, acting like they just gapped you. Especially when it happens all the time. Also you cant coast as far when you disengage the clutch just put in in neutral. Since you have less rotational mass on the FW it doesnt keep itself rotating as long as a heavier one.If you're goal is drag racing it could be counterproductive. Even though it let's your engine move faster and more freely through the rev range, it actually can hurt your acceleration slightly. If you have really good sticky tires you wont be able to burn out to warm your tires as well as before, and you dont pull as hard off the line. You actually want to either keep the stock FW weight or get a heavier one for drag applications. If you plan to autocross then this Is definitely what you want, since you'll keep your revs up the whole time anyway and you have quicker response.Other than that theres nothing bad to say about this FW. Great quality and an amazing product. Theres a reason why Exedy supplies most of the major car manufacturers clutch components. I definitely recommend this FW for any performance minded person.

I can't express how awesomely satisfied I am with this product.I drive a stock 08 Civic Si. I had the 3rd gear synchro replaced at 17k (these cars are notorious for that). After 17k miles (now at 34K), the transmission started to feel sluggish and the 3rd gear grinds would occasionally occur regardless of how careful I was (I would say I'm gentler on my car than 80% of SI drivers). With the Exedy Stage 1 clutch mated with the Exedy HF02 flywheel ($250), the car is an absolute joy to drive again. The transmission feels nice and clean, shifts are smooth as butter, and the 3rd gear grinds have gone away. The increased force that the pressure plate now has along with the 13 pounds shaved off with the new flywheel make the engine substantially more responsive. The engine used to hesitate with rev matching...that doesn't happen anymore. The car (with virtually no torque) gets squirrelly under 1st gear. Can't express how happy I am with this product. Spend the extra $250 on the flywheel. It's worth it.

I have purchased the Exedy flywheel (part number HF02)expecting to receive the correct item. I have already set up a schedule for the installation of the flywheel and clutch in a couple of days so this really is not good at all.Be advised that the box has the correct part number but inside there was nothing but the flywheel without the original Exedy box it should come in. Also, there should be an engraving on the inner flywheel with the part number HF02. I didn't see anything. The 3 bolts that the flywheel comes with have already been installed, they should be on a bag inside the original box, including the Exedy stickers.I don't know where they got the SFI Certification card from because it's not matching the flywheel at all.

Replaced stock flywheel in my 07 Civic Si. It does make the car feel like it has more torque in 1st gear now. It's made my car more fun to drive. I push the revs a bit higher now, mostly cause I have to, but I don't mind doing it cause the car seems a bit more responsive. Don't know how to put this, but going through corners, the car actually feels a bit lighter and more responsive. If you have a lightweight flywheel you might understand where I'm coming from. On level ground driving isn't all that different from stock, it's when I'm really pushing it uphill (Vtec) that I'm still having problems not giving it enough gas. I would recommend this performance enhancer to everyone who drives an Si. It won't turn your world on it's ear, but will enhance your driving on a daily basis and make you like your car more.

I had both HF02 and KHC10 installed at the same time.In neutral, RPMs climb or drop about twice as fast with HF02 versus with OEM flywheel. In first gear level ground, acceleration 5-35mph is about 1/4 second quicker. In second gear, acceleration 35-60mph is another 1/4 second quicker. From a standstill, 0-5mph is about the same, but its hard to tell/measure.Clutch stalls easier, but on level ground this is barely noticeable, just raise RPMs to compensate.Uphill, stalling will occur unless you raise RPMs and slip the clutch. There is definitely a changein driving behavior needed, but it can be overcome. The friction zone and pedal effort with the HF02 and KHC10seem the same as OEM. no change in gas MPG observed. no change in noise or vibration observed. My master cylinder is the Centric Parts 136.40014 Clutch Master Cylinder that doesnt include abuilt-in delay valve, so it might be more sensitive to engagement than an OEM master cylinder.
