Very thin plastic tube and lid. It will work but not at all durable. You get what you pay for.

I am using this for a fishing rod case, which is not it's intended use. That said, the "lock" feature is a joke...plan to use tape to keep this in position. This is very lightweight plastic...so, reasonably waterproof, but easily crushed. If you threw this in the back of your car and then put something sharp/heavy on it, it would dent or crush.For my needs, it work's well. I have 2 rods that come in 3 sections....this holds both (but not the reels).

I bought this to carry a 2 piece trout rod and I am so disappointed. The material is so flimsy that it doesn't even holds its cylindrical shape! it doesn't lock, it does not extend and stay where you put it. It is a damn joke.

I really like this product because of its expandable tube size. It is a really decent price as well especially since it is so much more versatile. Amazon is great for being able to find different versions of a product like this that are so much better.
