Car: 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback with 4EAT transmissionI recently dropped the transmission pan to replace some interior parts and used this gasket when reinstalling the pan. It fit perfectly and I had no leaks. This gasket is black rubber and does not require sealant ... in fact the enclosed instructions specifically state not to use sealant. The bolt holes are slightly undersize to hold the bolts in place so they won't fall out when you hold the pan up to the transmission and get the bolts started. Nice touch.

Does not fit 2001 Outback AT pan. Not even close. What is frustrating is that according to other sites, this is the correct AT pan gasket. I have noticed that since I ordered this the description now says Oil Pan, but in the details it still says AT Oil Pan. Go figure. I also paid extra to get it overnight so I could work on my car over the weekend. Thunderstorm in Louisville delayed it until the following week. Salt in the wound.

Despite what Amazon and the auto parts stores say, The TOS18684 is not the transmission oil pan gasket for our 2004 Forester XT. The gasket is too long and the pan does not have the "kick" the gasket has.

Do not buy this gasket for your Subaru. Yes it fits but it does not seal. Do this job the right way and use rtv ultra grey permatex or Fuji bond.DO NOT BUY
