Excellent price and solid tuners overall. These are actually chrome, so they won’t show discoloration or corrosion like nickel tuners. Ratio is good (20:1) but not as good as Hipshot’s 27:1 ratio and they wind in the standard non-reverse direction. These tuners fit perfectly in the roasted maple precision bass neck I was installing them in.That said the little “nubs†on the bottom that hold the tuners in place are a bit difficult to space correctly without a drill template and this does not come with one. I ended up having to expand a few of the holes I drilled as they weren’t perfectly aligned. Looks very clean overall due to the lack of screws on the back but are more difficult to install as the holes need to be more precise.I got these for about $92 after tax, which was a bit cheaper than the $116 I was going to pay for Hipshot HB7s.Tl;drGood value overall. Solid tuners. Installation is trickier than standard tuners that use screws.

First let me preface this by saying that these tuners are only for installation on new head stock of new necks and not as replacement tuners. Their mounting is completely different (no screws) and which requires accurate measuring and drilling. If you’re not experienced at this, you’re better off leaving it to a professional. Once you unpack them you’ll know what I mean but if you do get them mounted, they’ll look and perform great.

I have a 1996 American jazz deluxe and the tuner cracked in half. These were an excellent replacement but be prepared to have to drill some new holes for the 2 pegs. The entire process took less than 30 minutes.I wasn't sure the fluted tuning pegs would make a big difference but they do.Tuners weight approximately 2.6oz each
