No tangling problems for me using as electric fence wire , Just need to keep some tension as you unspool .This thicker aluminum wire conducts the electric shock much better than steel or thinner aluminum . Plenty strong for properly installed electric fence . You should not depend on a hot wire alone to physically contain . Use a woven wire or other fence as a physical barrier . The hot wire is just for behavioral discouragement .Easy to install and should never rust . Well worth the added expense .

I like the 14 gauge wire MUCH better than the 17 gauge wire. I use it to make twisted cable using an electric drill, then use that to support wire fabric for chicken coop walls and roofs, with wire ties to the cable.

Purchased the aluminum wire because its light weight and better conductivity. It was easy to run the two lines and the 14 guage has kept the goats off of the wire mesh fencing. When we first put it up, the buck thought he could walk through the wire using his horns, but when he touched it he backed off, tried it again and backed off again, the third time he sniffed it and again backed away. That was the last time we saw him touch it. It has been about a month, he has not gotten out and we have not seen him rub or touch the fencing.

I got a used roll. I could tell which part was used and which was not, but overall it was good. The wire itself is fairly malleable and easy to bend. It does not break easily. (At least for this size.)I am using it to make chain mail, and this length of wire can make a lot of rings. The material holds up under its own weight, but should only be used as costume mail. It is pretty soft.Overall I am very satisfied with the wire, the cost, and the mail it can produce. The only complaint is that after I used all of the "previous used portion" and reached the part of the roll that was still factory fresh, the spool became increasingly tangled. It was difficult to draw out the wire even with a motorized coiling rig. This was frustrating. I think I will need to cut off parts of the roll to use all of the wire. To avoid the tangling, I think the spool should be unrolled under tension. That could be difficult to do though. This would be even more difficult for those using it for electric fencing. For that purpose, I do not feel that I would recommend this product.

Worked great for me in an electric fence application, product was as-advertised. Tough to find fault with this product, only real criticism is that the spool has a tendency to want to uncoil itself if you don't keep tension on it. This is easy to work around if you are careful.

Seems just fine.
