It works great! Hardest part was removing the old broken buckle. Currently working well despite my 45 pound dog pulling against the collar with this buckle on it. Great design and so easy to install.Here is why I purchased this. Our favorite dog collar buckle broke and we didn't want to spend $75 to replace the collar. So, we bought a cheap replacement, and I hated it. I had never heard of a field repair buckle before and was looking for a solution to replacing a buckle that is stitched to handle extreme pressure. I found others but they didn't look like they would last so I stopped looking. Then one day, I stumbled on this item when trying again.If you have a broken buckle that seems like you can't repair, this is your solution!

This was very easy to install using a small phillips head screwdriver.Saved an old piece of luggage... without a trip to the seamstress.Great product.

I ordered this to replace a buckle on a camera bag that broke.Installation was easy once I got the old buckle parts off. When I tried to adjust the strap the new buckle came undone. I noticed that this happened at a very low force. I got out my luggage scale and did a test to see what the breakaway force was. Over 7 trials the average force was 5.01 lbs. with a range of 2.3 to 7.4 pounds. The lower breakaway forces occurred if pulling at a slight angle of 7 - 15 degrees and the higher forces occurred when pulling in a straight line.I consider this break away force to be unacceptable for my application.The idea of a field replaceable unit is good but the clip retention needs improvement for this to be of more practical use,

There are no instructions in or on the package. Installed it but messed with it trying different configurations. Settled on something that's didn't seam right. It held for about 2 weeks, but then it slipped loose.Materials are strong and sturdy but I'm sure I'm not using it right. Therefore it's kinda useless. I have it 3 stars because I'm sure someone's it they're knows how to use it correctly.
