Works as advertised. It can be lit in wet conditions because the rope is treated. You can smell an accelerant on it. The sparks it produces are MASSIVE and chunky. This is a great took for your camping gear 100%. The packaging is nice too; it suits a rugged look. Enjoy!

I’ve had this product for awhile now and it’s been on multiple camping trips with me. I absolutely love it. It’s compact and it works every time. Very easy to use and the design is perfect. Just fray some of the rope that protrudes from one end of the tube, strike some sparks, and you will have a fire in seconds. I love that once the rope ignites, you can let it burn and ignite several things with it and simply pull the rope back into the tube for an instant extinguish. It’s a must have for anyone that spends time outdoors. Anyone that has seen this in action immediately wants one and I don’t blame them. For 20 bucks, this will last many, many years. Great value!

The Fire Starter Survival Tool is an absolute game-changer for anyone who loves spending time in the great outdoors. As an avid camper and hiker, I've tried my fair share of fire-starting methods, but this all-in-one flint and steel fire starter kit is hands down the most reliable and convenient option I've come across. What impresses me most about this tool is its simplicity and effectiveness. With just a few strikes of the ferro rod against the included steel scraper, I can produce a shower of sparks that easily ignite tinder and kindling, even in challenging conditions like wind or rain. Whether I'm camping in the backcountry or enjoying a weekend getaway in the wilderness, I can always count on this fire starter to quickly and effortlessly create a warm and comforting campfire.Another highlight of this fire starter is its durability and portability. The compact size and lightweight design make it easy to carry in my backpack or pocket, ensuring that I always have a reliable means of starting a fire wherever I go. The robust construction of the ferro rod and scraper inspires confidence, knowing that this tool can withstand the rigors of outdoor use without fail.

I’ve wanted a ferro rod fire starter for a while now just so we don’t have to worry about lighters or matches not working when we go camping. Finally decided to purchase this one. I’ve not owned any others, but this one seems pretty dang nice. I like that it comes with an attached rope for easy ignition and control. I only deducted a star because it can be a little awkward to hold when striking especially if your hands are sweating or wet. I wish they had made the backside of it a little larger or added roughness for better grip, but ultimately, I understand they wanted to make it compact in case space is an issue. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase. It lights right up after striking the black protective coating off to expose the true material. It would make a great gift for any camping/hiking enthusiast.

This is an incredible item that will start thousands of fires simply. It's almost a never ending fire starter but the ferrocerium rod will eventually widdle down. Buy a roll of jute rope and soak it in mixture of wax and liquid parrafin and you'll have a never ending way of starting your fires. This one is definitely my favorite ferro rod combo and it effortlessly starts the rope every time. I bought 4 of them to make sure all my survival bags have one and put one in my car. They sell rope replacement too and I bought 3 of them. This fire starter is incredibly durable and exquisite value. The rod is about 1/2 inch by 6 inch and the rope is 1/4 inch thick. Just simply fray the end of the rope and strike is and you have fire. Looks and feels amazing. Not to heavy or light. I absolutely recommend these and for those on the fence buy it, you'll love it. I'm buying a few more for bartar when shtf. These will be a great trade item.

This is a great tool to have for firestarting. Much easier start than just a flint and steel. Sturdy construction and generates a great spark.

Best all in one bar starting till even in a storm. What are dry have one in four wheeler, car, bug out bag and rather have this over a lighter with a flint. Worthless wind, wet. This can sit in the rain all night and will still start a fire in 30 seconds. Great tool!! Thx

This thing is great. The large size and length of cord means this will last for years. Easy to use and because of the size of the rod there are lots of sparks to light the cord. A definite must in a bug out kit.

Full disclosure - haven’t used this yet, since I purchased after camping season had ended, but the concept is brilliant. I’m sure it’ll start a fire easily! Nice and compact. Will be easy to pack.

Usually 2 sparks to light once you get the hang of it. Would appreciate a 6 inch rod, but workswell

This item is extremely well built and easy to use. It is a real child's play to use it. Over the years I bought many ferrocerium fire started rods. Some better than others. This one beats them all. I always have it with me when I go in the wilderness for camping, or just recreational activities. You never know when you will get stranded nowhere for some unforeseen reason. With this item in your pack, getting a fire started to keep you warm or boil water and cook food won't be a problem. It is also a great gift idea for your friends and family who are the outdoor kind of people.

When things are life threating and your motor skills are low because hyperthermia has set in this is the tool to light your fire. Large and easy for your hands to operate. If you fall through a ice covered beaver pond in sub zero like I did you will not mind the weight. It is heavy and large but this is good in a very serious life threatening situation. Your hands do not work like normal when our life threatening enemy The Cold is your companion. Small firestarters are fine in weather above 0 but when push comes to shove then this is the tool to use to light a fire to stay alive. By the way money does not burn well use birch bark. Good Luck...
