Good for beginners! My original unit of this same brand lasted me about two years before it would no longer produce heat but this was after intense use. It was worth buying again as i havenâ€™t been as involved in the hobby. Thereâ€™s better products, but this one is good value if youâ€™re looking to try out the hobby

It works great but if you run it at high temperatures you'll want a good leather glove ...the pen gets pretty hot but this was expected. I've used it on leather....wood and bone and it works good on all of that
