When I pulled the grate out of the box, I thought I paid a lot for this piece of metal. Now, after two fires, I'm amazed at how much longer the wood burns—I'm speculating it's burning 30% longer. If you buy wood, it's not cheap. The grate will eventually pay for itself, and maneuvering the wood while it burns is much easier.

The product fits perfect in my fireplace grate and allows me to put a fire-starter underneath my wood without it being on the floor of the firebox. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Apart from the edges, appears to be excellent quality.I am worried somebody else may not realize how sharp the edges are. I understand the sharpness probably helps stop the grate from moving too much. The fires are now burning much more efficiently. The grate has bowed a little due to the weight of some very heavy logs, I used when it was very cold. But I suspected that could happen before I purchased, so am not too disappointed.
