While it’s impossible to catch every flying scale when scaling a fish, this tool does a pretty good job of collecting a good chunk of them. I mostly buy salmon, which tends to have a lot of scales, and this tool handles it well. I’ve been using it for over 6 months now, and I haven’t noticed any wear or tear.

This Fish Scaler Brush Fish Scaler Remover is awesome. What I love is that it works on fish filets, too. I almost did not purchase this scaler because I was concerned it would be difficult to use on fish filets. For filets, I simply hold one end of the filet and easily scrape off scales. This is much quicker than trying to use a serrated edge knife. The scaler is easy to clean, and the finish looks great. Be careful as this scaler is very sharp. Keep it away from children. I put this scaler away in my kitchen gadget drawer that no one uses except me. And I am careful not to pick it up by the edges. This would make a great gift for someone who loves fishing and cleaning his / her own catch.

It's a basic tool and gets the job done. The teeth are sharp so it makes quick work of scales. Just watch your fingers and don't scrape yourself in the process.

I bought this to prep fish I buy that sometimes has scales left on it, as I was tired of trying to scrape them off with a knife. This not only does a terrific job of removing the scales quickly and thoroughly, it "captures" them so they don't go flying all over the kitchen.What's even better, I found that it is the best tool I've ever found to scoop the seeds out of winter squash, pumpkins, and even seedy veggies like zucchini and cucumbers.

It's a rudimentary tool. And while nothing is wrong with that, it's a bit slippery when it's got fish juice on it and you have a time holding the thing. I'll keep it because I don't need to clean fish that often. However, I'm not impressed. I give it a generous 3 stars because it wasn't expensive and it's still usable.

The design is simple and effective.It's also easy to wash and clean.Had used knives to scale, we are always frustrated with splashes all over everywhere,we are happy to find the professional tool.After a while, it's still working well, but we notice the coating is not shiny anymore.

Works great but watch your fingers very sharp. Be gentle I found it would rip through the skin if you applied to much pressure.
