I used the insert to repair one of my fishing rods. The inset fits great. I ultimately used crazy glue to hold the insert in place. Works great.

Terrific kit that includes 4x of each of 13 guide sizes. Ceramic guides are inherently brittle, proper housing prep (sanding as needed) is critical or you will break the guide, perhaps that's why they give you 4 of each. The guide should slide into the housing with only a medium finger pressure. I do not recommend using tools to press the ceramic into the housing. Once seated and centered, apply epoxy and let stand for 24 hrs. The kit comes complete with sand paper, epoxy and brushes.A word of caution, if the guide housing is at all distorted and not truely round you won't likely have success with this kit, you will keep breaking the ceramics. Entire guide replacement is recommended.

Got what I expected with a wide range of sizes in the eyelets. Was able to repair my rod and save myself $30 or more. My only suggestion would be to buy a different epoxy to use besides the one provided if you have a heavier rod or want a quicker drying time. It took 12+ hours to harden enough not to be tacky anymore, but it has held for me so far. Granted, I was repairing the tip on and ultralight rod though.

It’s a nice little kit, but the epoxy is slow curing. Would be much better with a fast setting epoxy. A couple rods I was repairing didn’t have the exact size ring for, but could have still made it work if the epoxy was quick setting. Couldn’t keep the ring centered right long enough for the slow cure epoxy to set.

The concept is awesome but the application is lackluster. Had 3 broken guide inserts and this kit did not fit any of the guides. Save your 15.99 and buy guides to install, takes longer but less headaches
