A locking mechanism on the compass helps prevent mistakes, while a dial marked with inches and centimeters makes measuring easy, and the innovative plastic safety tip holds this pencil compass in place without tearing or puncturing the paper. This geometry compass and protractor set will work with a range of drawing tools to make circles and arcs in a variety of colors. Great addition to classroom supplies, teacher supplies, and back to school supplies.

These are basic compass and protracters. I bought a couple packs for my kids to use. They are very easy to use, my kids picked it up easily. The markings for degrees and inches was clear and easy to read. While they are not indestructable, they feel pretty solid and well worth the price!

This is good quality for a plastic instrument. I like that you can attach pencil of your choice and not have to have expensive tube of replacement leads. This has helped draw precise circles for designing and drawing for my paint projects like ornaments for Christmas or a rainbow etc.

We homeschool and needed a compass and protractor for 6th grade math and this is perfect! Easy to use & great for younger kids. Highly recommend!

It was a nice compass, helped with the basic needs, but its lock mechanism was poor and the compass didn't lock properly. Though it would have been nice if it locked, it still worked just fine.

My daughter needed a compass and a protractor this year for math. I was glad when I saw this set that included both. The protractor is a protractor, it works exactly like it should. The compass is ok. The only negative is that it doesn't lock in place and seems to move ever so easily. My daughter will set it to be a certain width and then start to draw her circle, because it doesn't lock in place, it is difficult to draw an accurate circle. She has figured out how to get a complete circle we just know it takes a few attempts. For what she needs this year it will be fine, however I will probably buy a more accurate compass that locks next year.

Over the years, we have trusted and used many Fiskars products (metal gardening tools, scissors, etc.) and have always found them to be top notch, long lasting and pretty much indestructible. Not so with the compass. Right out of the box, the plastic (not metal) compass would not lock in place, making it useless for our GT eighth grader's high-school-level geometry class. The resulting constructions are too sloppy for constructions. Ironically, the V-Plus brand we bought as a backup is far superior, with a great metal compass.
