Admittedly I didn't hang mine from from an overhead beam, as I didn't want to drill holes in my chosen mounting spot. Instead I drilled new holes in the vertical bars to fit C-clamps, and hung it the whole thing (via hammock straps with carabiners) from a pergola. Works great! This item's hardware feels well built and sturdy, and while I'm sure the foam-rubber grips will eventually suffer mightily outdoors, still... I'm pleased.

This was our 2nd pull up bar that we've tried. This one is solid and was fairly easy to install. My 13 year old is increasing his strength daily! Great way to get some umpf out when there is a lot of energy...

Very solid when properly installed. The grip feels good and there are grip variations which is nice.Would highly recommend

Pull up suck which is why I bought this. I needed some longer anchor bolts for where I hung it but other than that, it was an excellent product.

This review assumes that you're looking for an affordable pull up bar and understand that it comes with some compromises as compared to the expensive ones. For example, if you want a solid bar with no seams, you probably have to pay way more.I wanted to get better at pull ups and the only way to do that is to do more pull ups. Unfortunately, the way my house is built the only option I had was to get a joist mounted bar and put it up in my laundry room.Assembly of the bar itself was easy. Installation was a bit more complicated because I have metal ceiling joists. The included hardware is for wood/concrete mounting only. So, I had to make a run to the hardware store to get some nuts and lock bolts. The bar works well for doing pull ups. It has a variety of hand placement options to accommodate anything from wide grip to narrow grip. How much extension you can get at the top will be a YMMV situation depending on how much headroom you have. If that's really a consideration make sure you do some measurements before you buy. You might be better off with a wall mounted bar (more $$$, takes up more space) or a freestanding pull up bar (more $$$ and takes up floor space).

Sturdy construction. Easy assembly. Suspect the foam on the handles might compress after use. Bargain.

A few things.1: it's wrapped in thin bubble wrap. Clearly, it has smashed around in the box and created a number of sharp dings in the unit. I can file these down and cover them with a bit of nail polish.2: The mount also got bent in transport (seen in the photo with the bolt). However, it mostly bent back into place during assembly.3: the side walls are rather thin on the square tube. I expect it will bend in and require me to tighten the bolts a number of times. Not sure how long that will last.4: the drilled holes are larger than the bolts, allowing the unit to move somewhat even when tightened up (see #3)Now that I have it installed I don't want to move it. Installing it was a bit of work. The mount holes are maybe a bit too close to the unit. Anyway, I am mounted to a 12-inch sq oak beam, so I think it should stay in place.
