High Temp Plumbers Pad
The 12 inches x 12 inches Welding and Soldering Heat Shield Plumbers Pad is a non-flammable fiber fabric that provides effective protection against sparks, flames, and intense heat. Made from silicone coated fiberglass fabric that can be used for any light to heavy duty welding applications. It can withstand up to 1800° F and will not burn, melt or shrink and remains flexible with a soft cushion after use. Our PlumbersPad is an essential item for plumbers, mechanics, welding shops, and for many do it yourself projects.
Copper Hole
The copper holes of the FLASLD welding pad
are easy to hang. It can be easily fixed in a small space.
Pipe Hole
The cut-out the opening shape enables the mat to be wrapped around the pipe to work, The special design makes it better adapt to the narrow space and better protect the wall or equipment behind the pipe.
Snap Button
After the welding pad is wrapped around the pipe or conduit, you can press the Snap Button to facilitate fixing and prevent the mat from falling off.
Higher temperature resistance
The temperature of soldering flame and welding sparks usually exceeds 1000℉, and the maximum temperature resistance of fiberglass is 1000℉, so ordinary welding blankets are not durable, usually after 1-2 times of use, the blanket surface will be damaged by sparks.

You cannot burn this thing, I've tried. 10 minutes of map. Nothing.Now if you go too hot it will burn the coating off of it exposing the Kevlar that serves as the middle layer.You can't kill it, but it.

The blanket held up great while I soldered copper pipes together in bathroom remodel. I needed some extra time with heating up pipes and the blank got hot due to tight spaces. It did not burn though, and I did not set the wall on fire. Tough stuff! No burnt spots on the wall either.

so i went to do some plumbing and thought i could use this to protect my vinyl siding....WRONG. What a piece of crap. It actually caught on fire. Guess I will be doing some siding work now...just remember, if its from china, they want you to burn your house down

I needed to solder some radio wires in the dash of my vehicle but was apprehensive of using flame in tight quarters especially with highly flammable plastics. I inserted the pad between wires and the dash with excellent results. It’s worth every penny. It didn’t even get warm with direct flame on it. I was highly impressed.

This worked in blocking the heat but got damaged pretty quickly after a couple of uses. The material frayed where there was too much heat. A little disappointed about that but otherwise works well.

Found it worked well, but find that it seems really “thinâ€. I didn’t want to take a chance so I also used a wet rag to protect some other areas behind it. Otherwise, so far, they’re ok.
