They stick well to our vents on the fireplace. Color isn’t black, but they are your typical “flexible magnet†color, which is a dark brown. You could probably glue some felt to them to make them more attractive, if you were so inclined.

These work! Easy to trim and use. Blends well into our new fp's black face when on. So it blocks cold air leaks thru vents well and discretely. Thats what I was looking for! Magnetic energy is plently strong- nonslip and no slide (without human help)

It’s annoying that these are dark brown and not black. However, they do the job. It looks better then the blue painters tape and paper I was using before. It cuts the draft down by 80%. Our top vents don’t allow these to cover and seal it 100% because of the angle.

The draft stopper is the best! My fireplace hearth no longer has cold air blowing on itCannot wait until the temperature drops (live in upstate NY) and our winters can be FRIGID.It also stops a cross draft from great room to family room where the fireplace is located.These stoppers will stay in place year round. I cannot stress the importance of this product.They call for a bad winter and heating bills are astronomic! I know the heating bills will be lower this year!I tested the vents with a small magnet before order was placed.The strips are very secure.They were placed on the refrigerator to straighten out for 2 days .Thank you Amazon for carrying this!

Did exactly what I wanted it to do which was eliminating cold air coming into the room through horizontal metal fireplace vents when I have the fire off and am away from the house. Easy to cut to size. The finish is more of a dark brown to me than a black but actually looked fine. The side that faces out toward you is matte, not shiny. Again, just what I wanted. I put a small "vent cover?"reminder by my switch that turns on the fireplace so I remember to remove them before using the fireplace again. They are so unobtrusive, it is easy to forget! Takes seconds and same for reinstall when you want them back on.

We have not had a really strong wind yet, but these seem to hold well and we expect them to do the job
