Great pickups for the price! Not insanely hot output, but overall very good as they are more than my single coils and they are very quiet as far as noise. I love these pickups! I will get these again for future projects

i did the popular Bronco Bass mod adding one of these with a coil-split switch on the volume pot, replacing the dinky single coil it came with. for any price it was a nice upgrade, but for $12 (or $9.99 depending on color), it's incredible. i love the humbucker tone in the 9-10K model i purchased. i didnt check it with the meter but it sounds good enough that i dont care what the reading is. the single coil mode sounds a little more refined than the original, with just enough output to beef it up a bit. super cheap mod and even if you arent super handy, you could do a straight swap of this in about a half hour. the switch is a little more involved but very worth it!

I bought the 13-14k bridge version. Measured it with my multimeter at about 11.9k. Close enough.I got it to replace the single coil in a Bronco style bass made by Glarry. Huge improvement over the original!! I wired it up with a series/split/parallel switch. It has a wonderfully rich, warm, darker tone in series (standard humbucker wiring); crisp, bright, single-coil sound in parallel mode. I will probably never use it in split coil mode, it sounds pretty much just like parallel mode only thinner, but even that sounds better than the original pickup. It also looks great. Mine is the white color with chrome rails, and it fits the look of the Bronco pretty well. The only downside is that it is quite microphonic. This is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I wish I had wax potted it before installing, and I'm sure I will eventually pull it off and do that.I chose a pickup with rails so the post position wouldn't matter when used on a 4-string bass (although from what I've read, that probably doesn't matter much anyway). The E string is a little quieter than the others, but I'm pretty certain that's because of its position on the bass and not anything to do with the pickup itself.

Because it’s a no name pickup snobs will say it’s bad.Sounds great. I’d give it the Pepsi challenge to anything more expensive and I promise you no one would be able to say it’s a cheap pickup.Don’t be shy, buy one.

This pickup was powerful but no clarity, definitely need .022 cap. Lasted 3 months, Bobbin became detached pulling internal leads apart.

Good pickup! Bought the cream colored one for my guitar. It was a bit difficult, but I eventually got it to fit without having to modify my pickgaurd. The pickup I got had a 9.28k output, which is in the stated 9-10k ohm range. It's much hotter than my cheap Strat single coils that measure around 6k ohms. It sounds like a hunbucker, a much warmer sound, great for rock and metal.A lot of people say these are microphonic, but I didn't have any issues with it. I tried multiple times to scream into these pickups but they never transmitted my scream through the amp. You might not be as lucky as me though. For the wiring, two of the wires come soldered together - those are for split coiling. If you want to just have a humbucker, just put some electrical tape on them and forget them. There's also another set of wires that are joined together - there will be a ground wire and a shield wire (it'll look like a silver wire) - these go to the pots. The last remaining wire will go to the selector switch. Easy to solder, I got it on my first try and it was the first time I ever soldered anything in my life!Overall, these are a good upgrade for people with cheapo guitars like me trying to make them sound better.

used as bridge in strat. Awesome upgrade to setup. As others stated it does amplify errant sounds so you have to learn to sweep. Installation on Squier required a little Dremel work to widen pup slot but not much. Overall pleased with sound outcome

Although priced competitively, was not the sound that I thought it would provide. Nothing wrong with them, just not what I was expecting. Sounds more like a single coil then humbucker. Obviously, I was trying to upgrade to a humbucker sound. Just broke down and got the HOTRAILS, save yourself the disappointment.

Really liking the tone of the pickup. No wiring instructions. Red and White tie together. Green and Bare tie together and go to ground point. Black goes to selector switch. To enable single coil mode, ground the Red and White (selectable through a switch if you so desire). The screws(and springs) included are intended to mount directly to the body of the guitar. You need bigger screws if you want to mount to a pickguard.

If you know how to wax pot a pickup, that would fix this thing right up to a 5 star review. Its no duncan by any means. But its clear and loud. You can tap/ split if you choose. But without potting these things pick up every little tap & rub on the body. But for a $15 pickup I dont have any real complaints.
