I made a bait well using a 100-gallon feed tank. I also made a bucket filter for oxygenating and keeping the water clean. A submerged pump moves water from the tank through the filter and back. I got this hose for connecting the pump to the filter. This hose has thick walls that make it strong and durable. Unfortunately, the thick wall also makes it stiff and somewhat unwieldy to work with. The submerged pump I’m using is not heavy. It’s held to the bottom of the tank via 4 suction cups. Because the hose is so stiff, if I accidentally bump the hose, it often pulls the pump off the bottom of the tank. In retrospect, I probably should have chosen a hose that’s not as heavy-duty. In summary, I think this is a high-quality product. But it did work well for my use case.

I used this hose to replace a section of suction hose for a wash down pump on my boat. It replaced a cheap hose that had kinked and prevented proper pump operation. I’ll use this again on future boat projects. Much better than what you can buy at home stores.

My previous order of 1" vinyl tubing delivered a product that I could smell before opening the box, I couldn't smell this tubing while packaged, although once opened again the pungent PVC/vinyl smell can't be ignored. Nature of the beast.The reinforcing metal coil is well done without exposing the metal on the interior or exterior. This metal coil helps in retaining the tubing shape while being bent as to not kink, to an extent of course.The supplied hose clamps are of decent quality, although not the high-end silicone tubing type meant to not scare the surface of the tubing with the screws threads.Although not tested, these hose clamps could potentially contact the metal coil, allowing moisture egress and potential corrosion of the coiled material.
