Mounted this about 24" from ceiling on studs. The template helps a lot but you can drill in the center of the studs as long as all are level. I have 16" distance between studs so the 6 ft covers 5 studs and I only have 4 brackets. Ended up placing on all except the middle stud. Used 3/16 drill bit. And manual socket wrench 1/2 inch. Tried the 10mm - too small. I needed help placing the heavy shelving on top. Zip tied in place. Tried doing monkey bars on it and it held!

Installation was simple enough. You get a lot of leeway to put the supports on studs, regardless of stud distance, and the shelves are absolutely solid once they're up. You can't really ask for more than that!PS: I agonized for a while before settling on these, since the frame design of the shelves will allow small items to drop through. A, that's fine really, I'm actually glad I can poke stuff forwards from beneath, but B, if it's that big a deal for you, it comes with a cardboard box you can use to cover up the gaps.PPS: use a socket wrench or a driver, not the included screwdriver adapter thing, to spare yourself some sweat. 10mm socket should do the trick.

These work great and are easy to install. Although, the listed dimensions are incorrect. I specifically bought these to fit in a 74" space, as they are listed 72" long. They are actually 75.25". I was able to install them elsewhere, but still pretty annoying.

I installed a few of these earlier this year and can't be happier with them. The installation was very straightforward, and they are sturdy enough for most needs. I did have to modify the installation from the directions and trim one end of the shelves to accommodate the 24 on center studs in my garage. It shouldn't impact the durability, but it was an extra step I had to take due to my installation needs.

I wanted to get rid of a large wooden shelf unit and place all the items higher to have more open floor space and new workbench! These shelf units are very sturdy and went up easy. I can also use the brackets to hang some more things and make it easier to see them. I have a lot more space now and it looks much cleaner!

Very sturdy but angles are too tight. It needs some slack. Easy to install but because the clearances are so tight, if one of the bolt is incorrectly placed, it needs to be redone.
