WHY DO YOU NEED FLY LINE BACKING?
Filling Up the Reel
The backing provides an additional diameter to lessen the memory loops in the fly line and increase the rate of line retrieval when reeling in.
Add Length as An Insurance
A typical fly line is 90 to 110 feet in length. If your fishing for anything bigger than little fish, you will need some backing on your reel. It really isn’t hard for a fish to run a hundred feet of line out, particularly when river current is involved.

Great value for 200y of backing lineHopefully it won't need to do much for me other than take up space on the reel, but if it does get called into action one day it seems strong enough to do the job.

Good quality fly line backing at a great price. I have purchased this product /brand many times. The backing takes knots well, and so far (after 3 seasons) the colored backings do not bleed out. Great backing for the price!

It’s not complicated. It’s backing. It was delivered reasonably fast and it didn’t cost much. Mot mich more thought needs to go into buying backing
