The damper came in the shipping box, loose, (not inside a Motorcraft OEM box inside the shipping box). The damper had a "motorcraft" sticker, but that doesn't mean it's a motorcraft damper. The part number stamped on the damper is "SC-2961" which is the Monroe part number = it is a Monroe damper, not Motorcraft. You should just buy the Monroe damper, it is less expensive. These guys are utilizing false advertising to charge more....My truck is a 2003 F350 4x4.FYI: On my old Monroe SC-2961 the damper eyes were the same width. Now the newer style SC-2961 can only be mounted with the Reservoir side eye on the Passenger side mount, because that eye is the proper width for the bracket. If you mistakenly mount it with the shaft side of the damper at the Passenger side mount, the bracket will bend, since the shaft side eye is narrower.Basically, can only mount one way, or you will bend your Passenger side mounting bracket.
