With mixed reviews, I took a chance and got it. I am new to rockhounding and feel like this is a good hammer to begin with! I genuinely like it a lot. It's a bit heavy but it's sturdy. It's perfect size and the color is vibrant. Works as it should and doesn't need too much force to get the job done. Satisfied customer!

Chipping end stays sharp for a long time! Great for the price but not as heavy as a 28 Oz brick hammer with wooden handle great for lighter brick work!

I didn't know geologists use this hammer. We use it to beat concrete off concrete trucks. It works wonderfully, good weight and all. Looks good too
