Why we need this flat socket for fork top nuts ?
1. As most fork top nuts are low profile nuts,means not much area for gripping.
2. If using a chamferred edge socket, you won't have good holding power, and it is easy to strip the corners of the fork cap nut
3. And this flat socket, Hard material, CNC precise machining with good tolerance controlled, and could grip the fork cap nut well so that you could have good holding power.

Problem we meet during assembling Top-End
After putting the spring in the tube, then the washer , the spacer, finally the fork cap.
then we see the long distance that we have to compress the spring.
Tips on this ,
Befor you assembly all and push down, and try to tight the screw.
Just take out the long spacer, and put the fork cap in
start to rotate it, until it start to catch the thread
After you find that moment where the cap catches, back it off then rotate forward where it catches,
then do the mark,
so when you assemble, you only have a half a turn to go, It is easier than trying to push down
and rotate the cap, and try to find where it is supposed to catch

It does what it’s supposed to, I like the rubber o-ring that contacts the top surface to avoid causing surface defects on removal and installation. Quality is good! Works great for me! Idk if they make a 3/8†drive version but the one I bought was 1/2†so I needed to use a 3/8†adapter for my torque wrench. I was in a hurry to order, so I wasn’t paying attention to drive size.

The socket came nice and shiny, fit perfectly on the fork cap of 1999 Harley Davidson sportster 1200.Previous owner might have over tighten the nut so I had to put some torque to loosen it up. For that reason you can see on the third photo that it dented the socket a little on the inside.Quality I would give it a 4/5 since it’s made of some alloy with copper (soft metal) and chrome coated.Overall I’m happy with it as I got the job done and shipping was fast

A must have if you only use it once. But you will use it more once you try it. I wrapped blue painters tape around the fork cap bolt flats and folded it over to cover top as well. Bolt came off with ease. NO damage at all.This socket is very well made and the finish is outstanding! Size is etched on socket.Packed very well also.Worth every penny!
