I keep one in my fanny pack, one in my shoulder pack and then one in my jig box. These are not bad as a lightweight pliers line cutter. Do not use to crimp sleeve...not enough leverage. The spring to keep jaws open helps a lot.5 stars overall but I had to reduce to 4 per the below:1) The ability for these to cut braid could be improved. The cutting edge is fine for monofilament line but the braid just slips. Jaw tension could be tweaked to provide proper shearing action....but you can only compress to a point where the jaw movement will be compromised.2) The tips for split ring opening is fine for medium to large split rings. However, it is challenging for small and mini splits. I had to take my Dremel (carbide bit) and grind down the upper jaw to a finer point....I was impressed how the material was able to be ground down. Now it's acceptable.

I purchased this bc it looked like a pair I had purchased from BPS, but the finish on the split ring end was so poor that you'll never get a ring apart. Eventually I bent the beak forward and used a file to true it enough to use.

Versatile and easy to carry. I love that there are two when one eventually goes swimming.
