Love this tool. It does everything that I look for in a fishing utility tool. I fish a lot offshore and salt ruins all metals. Being aluminum is great and its held up so far.

If you need a good pair of fishing pliers for inshore fishing you can't go wrong with these. I have used them for an entire fishing season here on the Texas coast averaging more than 1 fishing trip per week and fishing my dock 3~4 times per week. The Booms X1 have held up well to the saltwater abuse. The cutter blades are still sharp enough to cut braid, monofilament, and light (I tried to use these pliers on 150lb split rings on offshore lures and it twisted the tip so that the top and bottom don't exactly line up anymore - that's why I give it 4-stars. The pliers still function well, the tips just don't align perfectly anymore. If you need a good pair of fishing pliers for inshore fishing you can't go wrong with these.

This little tool is perfect for any fisherman, if you are looking for a great gift for the person who likes drop a hook and try to catch some slabs, get this. Super light and versatial, I really like the strap that comes with the tool, I will attach to my clothes (belt loop, zipper, button hole) and I always have the pliers within an easy reach without having to look around.

Bought 2 pairs for two boys just learning to kayak fish with me. Put it in their first, independently owned, tackle kit - a gift for Easter 2018. Thus, they don't need to come over and raft up with me to use my tools for re-rigging their lines. They can now operate fully on their own nearby instead. They each have their own color - preventing mix ups and squabbling. LOL. So far, rave reviews from them both - they are thrilled. I'll probably get my own pair soon. They come with the sheath and the lanyard. I will add a little line w/large bobber to the sheath and possibly attach to the lanyard. Even with fairly careful kids, things do go overboard easily enough when out on the water. (Like my keys or my cell phone). These are so nice, we will not want to loose them. The lanyard clip is great, it can be clipped to a PHD or the eyelets mounted on the boat. One comment I will add here.... I thought that with these I would not need to carry all of the 4 tools I rely on most. I had thought that these would cut it down to one. However, after getting them in hand I do see the cutting surface is small. As an older person, (using reading glasses now for heavens sake!) I might find it a bit annoying having to get line right on that surface to cut it. So far no complaints from the 10 and 12 year old on this point. When I get my pair for my own tackle bag I will keep the tiny sharp craft scissors in there in case it's just more comfortable and easier to use for snipping line quickly. At any rate I'm still incredibly impressed with this tool - it's well made, machined smooth metal with a nice heft - sturdy - a quality feel for such an awesome price.

In a world full of junk and poor products this gets 5 Stars out of the box.We will see how it perform but well made and extremely lightweight, very reassuring line cutter when tested.Pleased with these.....
