I got this after reading about it on a BMW forum. My E92’s aux/usb port has fallen inside the center console. Repeated insertions has caused some weakening/widening of the place that the port rests. I have extra long needle nose pliers, but I can’t get them inside to grab the port. I figured that using these was better than trying to maneuver my hand inside the console. I have enough scratches on my hands as it is now. These did the job and I can enjoy being able to enjoy my phone’s music/GPS/calls again. I was able to get a firm grip on the port while I was “fishing†out the port. I can see myself using these for other purposes around the house/cars.

What I like:The fishing hook remover features great functionality.I like the powerful plier-like gripping action of the product.The tool seems durable and built to last.What I don't like:The product somehow made it through the Quality Control Department, and probably shouldn't have. Apparently, my tool was produced in a hasty manner, as a good deal of the tool's frame features some very sharp edges. In fact, the edges are sharp enough that I'm not going to be using this product until I've had a chance to either file-down the sharp edges, or maybe use some plastic tool dipping product in an attempt to cover the sharp edges for my own safety.I would consider ordering this item again if only they would improve their production quality, and I wish I could offer 5 stars, but I can't, as the sharp edges are an issue for me.

I like this item, it is good and functions just fine, a decent relative value (maybe not the best), but it could be improved a little bit, and I'll tell you all the details. I am hoping to give you some helpful information in this review. Check out my photos, and you can see the dimensions, on the graph paper (major lines are one inch). The reach from the tip to the trigger handle is about 7 1/2 inches. Yeah sure, the overall dimension the seller says is accurate, that's not really what you need to know. Check out my pic. These hook pliers are indeed relatively sturdy, good stainless steel, connection link is strong (from trigger handle to the plier tip). However, the tip itself is not the best fit in the squeezed closed position. The jaws tips squeeze closed in contact, but there is a little bit of open space between the jaws inside the tip. For those reasons I have this a 4 stars. I hope that is helpful. Cheers !!

One of the most important tools in a fisherman's tackle box. Bonus they are stainless steel and won't stop working in salt water conditions because of rust or seizing up. Great gift for any budding fisherman!
