Small. Hefty. Perfect for my use. I usually don't need pliers but these feel like they will allow me more dexterity when I do.

I was looking for very compact and rugged pliers for fishing and bought these. The overall construction is very solid and the needle nose is precise. Cutter works great even for very thin fishing line. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the magnet that keeps them closed is very light which makes them open easily. I was hoping they'd stay a little more locked so I can attach them to a lanyard without having them open up. Outside of that they're great for the money

I'm an avid fisherman and have owned my fair-share of pliers, nippers, and hemostats. I've yet to find one that I'm fully committed to carry on every trip and every situation, but I think these are nearly perfect for most on the water fishing needs. I primarily fly-fish small rivers, so keep that in mind. I have no experience with massive saltwater trophy fish needs. They are solid stainless steel and the milling seems pretty good. The tolerances are well within acceptable ranges for the task at hand, and they are comfortable to hold. The multi-purpose function is what sold me to add these to my primary fishing kit.The cutters are sharp, they'll take care of any fishing line that I own. The pliers are delicate and small enough to manage hook removal with the rainbow trout and panfish I typically catch, but sturdy enough to handle most on the water challenges that you encounter (Maybe size-up if you are going after large fish, or need a bigger plier to manage around sharp teeth). The'll do great at adding and removing split-shot, split rings, cutting line, removing hooks.I also really appreciate the lanyard loop / attachment point. I'm going to tie a retractable tether to these and hope to never lose them. They are super sturdy and I don't expect them to encounter rust or corrosion. I can't wait to use them on the water this spring!

I admire the innovative design of these little fishing pliers. They are very small, and can easily fit into most any pocket. But they are full featured, and the cutting and clamping surfaces are relatively large. The carbide cutters are properly aligned for clean cuts. Another cool idea: they feature a magnet to hold them closed. This works just right. And they are also beautifully machined: I enjoy looking at and handling them like other fine tools. What else? The small size gives these pliers a different geometry; at least compared to standard sized fishing pliers. Although the holes are big enough for my thumb, at first I was a bit dissatisfied with the angle of the pliers in my hand—at least when I was using my familiar thumb and index finger hold. It seemed like the pliers were askew to the right. However, I found that if I changed my habit and used my thumb and middle finger, the pliers were comfortable and the alignment much more to my liking. So what is my summation? These things are just plain cool.

I got these because they're compact and have the split ring tool in the right spot as well as some other features. I like the fact that they are not spring loaded because for someone with arthritis spring loaded pliers can be a bit more difficult at times, especially in colder weather. The tab for hanging on a zinger is a very nice feature and it fit on one I already had but it doesn't work with the caribeaner clip style ones which works because I don't plan to keep taking them off and putting them back on the zinger as they will remain attached to it long term.I can't give it 5 stars because I haven't used it in the field yet but I am very confident they will work great, hopefully the finish doesn't rust with water and salt exposure as they're used.Definitely worth grabbing a pair of these to keep in your fishing vest or tackle backpack because they're about the size of braid scissors and will be much more handy.

These are a great multi-tool plier for daily carry when fishing. They are super sturdy (almost a 1/4 inch thick) making them nearly impossible to break under normal use. The cutters cut braid and mono equally as well, and the split ring nose works well. They even have a little magnet between the handles to help keep them closed when not in use so if you put them on a lanyard they won't be snagging on everything. I'm super happy with these and will put them in my small hiking/river fishing backpack as they are a lot lighter than the needle nose I previously had in the pack.

I bounce between forceps and standard small needle nose pliers most of the time, then I also carry split ring pliers in the tackle box too. This pair feel REALLY nice in the hand, very durable/sturdy and I suspect SHOULD last a lifetime. The jaws align nicely and precisely. The tip of the jaws even has a split ring tooth, which I didn't really notice in the listing's pictures or description. So that was a very pleasant surprise!Being shorter than typical pliers, they won't be able to get really deep into a fish's mouth, but I'd still expect 95% of the time, they'll work quite well. I'll keep the forceps in the tackle box still. The other integrations, like line cutters, crimps, etc., are nice to have but not nearly as important as a good set of functioning pliers.I'll have to find a lanyard for this set, as the package didn't include one. Not a big deal, but would have been nice.
