I was surprised that there was no adapter for a common garden hose. The blue adapter it came with looked like it would work, but didn't fit, so I had to make my own from the hardware store at extra expense and time. Otherwise, the pump itself seems to be of good quality and has worked well so-far, though I've only ran it for a few hours.

I purchased this to pump out my 20,000 gallon in-ground pool. I pumped through a 1-1/2†X 100 ft long hose, and placed the pump at the 4’ depth. The pump easily pumped 1200 gallons per hour, maybe more , as I didn’t run it continuously as I worked on the pool. No issues.I did not try pumping through a garden hose. My guess is it would slow the process down considerably

I used this pump to empty out residue left in the bottom of my pool after the LA fires and this little pump was incredibly great a getting it out quickly. Pumping out more than I expected and was able to get out a lot of gunk off the bottom of the pool quickly and easily. Best money spent on pool equipment.

This pump is a yard saver. I was able to pump the flodded rain water to another side of my yard fast and easy. I only wish the plug in cord was longer and it had an on off switch so I don't have to plug and unplug.It is quiet and fast. Water drained out like a fire hose. Love it!

I just had a flood in the basement. So I ordered this Water Pump the next day to drain the basement. And my god, it's so much faster and better. Extremely convenient. It beats any manual labor I had to do the day prior.It doesn't come with a hose and I recommend those who do to get the 100ft hose expandable hose (it's too short unexpanded) in order to extend from basement to outside.There is no on/off on this model. As soon as you plug into the outlet it starts draining. Pretty straight forward.

I had the misfortune of having the basement recently flooded so I bought this as an emergency portable pump before installing a fixed permanent sump pump. I bought a 1.5" discharge hose of 50 feet to go along with it (reviewed as well). I tried the pump yesterday in a storage bin of 64 litres that I filled up with clean water. I connected the hose, slowly sank the pump in the water to get the air out and plugged it in. It took exactly 24 seconds for the bin to be almost empty (about 3/4 of an inch of water left in the bottom) from the time I plugged the pump in the electric outlet. I thought that was pretty impressive for such a small portable device. I hope it will come in handy if I need it. It has a good sized handle to it that is not flimsy. I like that as well. I believe a 1.5" hose is the largest one can use with this pump so if you use a garden hose, expect poorer performance as the hose size will make a lot of difference in how much water it can move. Another feature that made me buy this pump amongst all the other similar offerings on Amazon is that the cord is 25 feet ! That's a very smart move by Foting. Most brands give you between 15-20 feet electric cord and sometimes less. With a device like this or any other that has to come in contact with water, I'd rather not use an extension so having 25 feet of length gives me a lot of options to connect it directly to an outlet. Although this thing is rather small, it draws 900 watts of power (something to think about if you want to use it with a generator). If there is only one thing I would improve it would be the user manual. It has lots of safety precautions but very little to say about the operation of the pump itself. No worries as there are plenty of videos on Ytube to point you in the right direction. For 75$ bucks with the Amazon rebate I can't ask for more.
