Your cart is empty.The Fowler 52-520-707-0 is a Long Range Indicator Test Set with a super strong magnetic base and 1" range dial indicator. 2 swivel clamps allow adjustment to almost any position. The dial indicator with adjustable dial allows easy zeroing for quick set-up. Supplied in a shop hardened case. The dial indicator has a 2.250" dial face, 1" of range, 0.001" graduations, 6" range per revolution, revolution counter, carbide ball contact point and tolerance pointers. I bought this indicator and liked it so much I have now started buying other Fowler precision tools to try them out so far just this and a set of 6"-12" O.D. mics. I've had no problems with either at this point. Great lower priced equipment.

Although Fowler is supposed to be a big name in the precision instruments manufacturing this indicator set is a toy. With the vertical bar at only 4" this is a bad joke. What were the folks who designed this thinking? That only kids would play with it? The only plus here is the clamps. Very well thought and reliable. Wish my Noga stand had them. The dial indicator is very good though. Quite precise. But the support for it is meeehhh. And the magnet, nothing special about it. If it hadn't been for the super short support I would' ve kept it. Ordered a Noga instead with a bar twice the height. That one is a keeper.

The indicator is of good quality however the base is cumbersome to set up and work with and the instructions are not as clear as they should be to set it up.I may be biased in my opinion after using the more flexible and versatile infinite position “single knob†magnetic bases.The indicator certainly works as expected and the case serves to protect the indicator and base. Unfortunately, the base must be disassembled every time you want to put it into storage.
