Tips:

The principle of using copper nails is that the tree dies as a result of having a diminished healing capacity and being exposed to a highly poisonous substance from the inside over a prolonged period of time.

Hard to kill the tree if the nails don't go all the way into the roots. Only got half the nails all the way through the roots

I Haven't actually used the nails just yet, will try them later on today, will update after, but people described the nice clear plastic case as shown in the photo mine only came with inside of a small white cardboard box. False photo description there, should be updated changed or removed.Oh yes, so now my husband has actually hammered the nails into our cut stump, and just as all of the other reviews state, that half of the nails just bent in half with the heads or tops of them having to be nailed down onto their sides. I know it's copper and not steal or aluminum, but they're nails and should at least be capable of standing upright. Yes, really cheap material, should be priced at $5.99 and not the $15.99 they're charging for this cheap, poorly made junk from China.

Received exactly what was pictured. Please understand that copper is very soft and you cannot just hammer these into trees. You will need a 9/64 drill bit about 6 inches long to drill a hole. Then you can just gently tap the nails in. IMO This is the cheapest You are going to find pure copper nails.Search Amazon for 9/64 6 inch drill bit and you’ll find several good deals.

Ok so i am writing this 3 months after buying. You will need a small drillbit to pound the copper nails in the tree or use the steel one attached for each hole before pounding in the copper ones or the copper will definitely bend into nothing.trying to kill a 20 foot oak tree, 3 months later nothing tree DOESNT care about all these copper nails. If you want a tree dead, drill 2 huge 5/8 inch hole in it with a drill pointing diagonally downward and keep filling with 40% glyphosate (check roundup ingredients etc) chemical and the tree will die within 2 weeks! Half gallon to full gallon of 40% glyphosate WILL WORK. I couldnt just cut down this oak so it had to die somehow first so an arborist can sign a permit. Dont buy this to kill a tree! Use the method above!

Have a12" round tree with 6 of these nails in it and nothing. Epsom salt works better.

These work just as well as chemicals only they take a little longer.
