I am definitely not a car mechanic, but I had been annoyed about the passenger side door not unlocking automatically from time to time on my 2008 Chevy Tahoe, so after a bit of research and watching a few videos online, I decided to try fixing it myself. I ordered the part and began to follow the instructions I found online in a video (none came with the package). After I got the door panel off and the old mechanism out, I realized that I needed to keep the rod that connected the locking mechanism to the actual door lock 'button' that comes out of the top of the door panel. No big deal; it slides right out and was in good shape to put on the new one. Once I got that on and the new lock into the door, the second challenge was that there is a small plastic clip that attaches to another, smaller rod that connects to the outside door handle deep inside of the door panel. I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the clip closed around that rod with no luck as it seemed like the clip that came with the new lock was a tiny bit too small to fully close around it. Not sure if it was me, or the design, or what, but it is in a very difficult spot to see and reach, and I had come too far to give up, so I got creative. I took the clip off of my original door lock (just popped right off) and put it on the new one, and voila, perfect fit and everything went back together and worked perfectly.Overall, Id say it took me about an hour or so, between the discovery learning and trying not to break anything along the way, but there were no expensive tools required, so Id say I saved at least $200 installing it myself on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Fits and functions as original. I don't know it will last 25 years like the OEM did but priced well and looks viable.

I installed this in a 2005 Suburban. The installation was pretty straight forward following some YouTube tutorials. There were no instructions with the part, but as I removed the old, broken part, this one fit right into its place. The interior handle is connected by a metal bar that is bent at a 90 degree angle at the end to slot into a spot on this lock actuator and should be held there by a plastic part. However, this particular connection doesn't seem to hold the metal bar much at all. So far, it's stayed in place, but I may go back into and jerry-rig something to give me more confidence in it staying in place. The other problem I had was with the vertical bar clip that connects to the outside handle. The clip broke the first time I opened it. Thankfully, what broke didn't keep the bar from being held in place, but how easy it broke doesn't give me a lot of confidence.Otherwise, the installation was fine. After closing everything up, I found that the power locks were reversed for this door; unlock locked the door and lock unlocked it. I'm not sure yet if this is a problem with the product or if I messed up the wiring somehow, so I'll have to open the door back up to confirm and can update this review and/or adjust its rating after I do so.In general, this seems like a decent replacement part and it does seem like it can work, but I can't fully recommend it.

I was getting the annoying door open even though it was shut. I replaced it with another one, but it wouldn’t shut all the way when closing the door normally. I had to always get the door within a 1/2 inch to close, then shut it. Also the previous one’s door lock button rod attachment wouldn’t work and had to use the old one. This one worked great. Can now shut the door normally.

This looks like a standard auto part store or dealer item. Works good and solved my problem. Easy installation and fit well.

This actuator does not fit a 2007 GMC Sierra. The actuator needs 2 plugs on a 2007, this actuator only has one.
