I switched to a five string fiddle and on the advice of other 5 string players I bought this bow. What a great bow this turned out to be! Well balanced, not too heavy and well made, it is an excellent bow for the money. It took about 15 minutes of applying rosin for the strings to finally stick, but now just a light brush or two before playing is sufficient. Great attack and volume, it makes my fiddle sound good over all 5 strings. Before I found this bow, I was looking at Coda Bows starting at about 10 times the price but there’s not a real discernible difference to my ears. This bow was at the low end of their price scale, so I’m curious about the more expensive bows in this line. Definitely take a look at Vingobow if you’re shopping for a bow upgrade.

I play professionally and keep this as a spare in my case for outdoor use, as a loaner, or for emergencies. After quite a bit of rosin and a good workout, the black hair grips well. The balance and weight are very comfortable and this bow draws a warmer, less-grainy sound compared to similar bows of various brands I have tried. This is the second identical model VINGOBOW I have purchased and I prefer it to the first for range of sound, articulation capabilities, and overall feel. Every wood bow is unique and, surprisingly, this is true of carbon fiber bows as well. With carbon fiber bows, even of the same brand, materials, and manufacture, the individual performance characteristics vary and will respond differently with different instruments and set ups. So at this price, it may be worth it to get couple and see what pairs best with your instrument.

My kid loves this bow. He tried so many other bows and this one given its price point outperforms them. The only better from this one is Codabow Diamond GX which is 900+. My kid says this bow is good for regional level competition.Given the price I gave it 5 stars.

I bought this for my 7th grader. The first bow I bought her was around $25. So this was double that at $50. It is a black horse hair bow. She says her orchestra teacher said he would buy everyone a bow like her's if he could. I don't know if that is true, but she loves her bow.Update already broke. They are sending a replacement. Maybe just fluke.

Might add pic later. I quit playing when I could no longer afford repairs and when I felt so disabled I knew traveling for orchestra and string quartet was no longer an option. I’m in the process of selling all my bowed instruments because I am a firm believer that they belong in hands that will use them. One day I picked up the cruddy classical guitar I bought for my granddaughter. She had decided it wasn’t for her so now it’s mine. I got the bug. I looked through my instruments and discovered that one violin and one viola needed no repairs. Unfortunately my favorite violin still needs help, but the one in perfect condition is a nice one. The viola in good shape is too big for a little gal like me, but I spent many delightful hours playing it in string quartets.What was stopping me from playing? No bows with hair. I investigated rehairs but then by chance decided to check out Amazon. This viola bow with black hair (something I like for all my bow from bass through violin) and decided on the viola bow. I would rather play violin with a viola bow than viola with a violin bow.I was so excited when it arrived today. First thing I did was begin the rosin process which I had read takes a lot of rosin. I chose my cello rosin. Good choice. I tuned the instruments and then played a scale on each. I am so happy. Amazon, you made this a great experience.

I had a premonition that my two expensive bows would get damaged on an overseas tour. I ordered this bow c. GBP58 on Monday, it arrived Tuesday and I took it away for a series of concerts. It worked fine, ran true - recommended

This is a good bow! Incredible value. The only complaint is that the hair is not good quality, and breaks frequently.
