It comes with a ton of the tape plus one already installed. I practiced using it on my index finger. It had moments when it didn't want to make the initial grap of tape to make a wrap around before stapling. With just a little practice I was able to get it down pretty quick and was able to make wraps. This is so much simpler and faster than using twist ties like I always do. Not to mention cleanup. Finding as many of those ties as I can after growing season is over. This stuff can just be torn. It will dry rot in the sun and disintegrate over time. Now with all this said it takes a few more wraps than it did twist ties as this isn't as strong. That's OK because the tape and staples are so cheap and plentiful. And because I know someone will ask, no the wraps aren't too tight on the plants.

I used this last year and I’m using it this year as well and it’s held up great and works so much better than twine, which will often dig into your tomatoes if you don’t cut it loose, or any other options I’ve tried. It takes a few tries to figure out how it works but once you understand how it works, it’s pretty simple to use. Comes with plenty of tape and staples. I used it on 65 tomato plants last year and about the same this year and I’ve gone through a couple roles of tape and a few staple strips. Make sure and clean it off every so often.

The tool itself deserves five stars but I’m giving it four because I found the instructions to be a little vague. It took me 5 or 10 minutes to figure out how to make it work right (I’m still unsure how to feed new ribbon through when it comes time). But once I figured out the mechanics of it, I was out getting all the black Berry canes tied up rather quickly. I definitely believe it saved me a lot of time. The additional staples and all the ribbon is a great touch! Two different color ribbon will allow me to alternate each season to help keep track of cane growth.

At first it's cool and neat tool to have, and by at first I meant 3 weeks of rare use!Soon, frustration sets in. First the tape will not load, after wasting almost an entire roll of tape, I finally read a review here on how to make sure the tape always load/catch - have a pair of SHARPS with you so you can manually load the tape!ONE roll of tape later, the blade is dull!Changed to new blade and it still won't made a clear cut!Next, the staple will not stapled!Lots and lots of tapes and staples wasted, it's a miss and miss product.Disgusted that I actually added to landfill buying this junk!Disappointed!

I was hesitant at first with the multiple options for this item on Amazon. I made a decision based more off the reviews of others on this model and seller.I couldn't be happier with my purchase. They send the device already setup and ready to go once you load the staples in place. It feels well built and functionality is great once you learn how to operate the tool. A half squeeze grabs the ribbon strip and you then push it against your source needing support and then do a full squeeze and it staples and cuts the ribbon in one step. The ribbon is strong and has plenty of stretch and the stapled connection holds great and will definitely support my needs to hold up tomatoes plants and other vegetables. If you garden or need some type of strong temporary support I highly recommend giving this tool a chance as I am very impressed of its functionality and easy of use and setup.

Takes a little getting use to but once you figure it out will save a huge amount of time. I grow hundreds of tomato plants a year. It use to take me days to tie them up by hand. No it just takes hours. I did not hurt a single plant using the plant tape that came with this tool.

This works great when it works but then the teeth get stuck and it will not pull the tape. I have to carry around a knife in the garden because mine only hits about 3 times before something happens and it stops pulling the tape.

Works flawlessly 90-95% of the time (could be user error too). I was able to affix my rasberries with ease to the trellis. Waaay faster than just doing it by hand. I thought a tool like this would cost more than it did. Happy with the purchase

When you go to use this tool there is a half click and then a full click the first one pulls the tape and the second one staple said the instructions were vague and the picture was not Helpful at all but the tool works great and when you have 100 or more plants to tie to steaks it saves a lot of time and it looks neat and tidy when done
