At first I thought this was a glorified twist-tie, and could not believe people would pay for these. Then a friend showed me some uses I had not thought of, and I purchased a package. I was definitely wrong; these are very handy and worth the cost!The work so much better at tying up charger cords, headphone cords, etc. vs. the standard black ties that come in the packaging. Also, being colored can help with cord identification (e.g. the red tied cord is for the TV, the tie that is blue is around the DVD player, etc.).Given they are lightweight, I keep them in my camping kit. My current favorite use for them is to rig a USB-powered fan to the line in my hammock so I can be kept cool in hot weather! Also use to tie a lantern up in my kids' tent (instead of using a rope which will invariably get knotted). In the winter, when snowy, I have tied an orange or blue one of these on to the end of my pocketknife and flashlight, so that if I would drop them, I can find these items above the snow!Easy to use and undo. Super durable - have yet to break one of these. Have bought several sets of these & wrap them on all my cords. Highly recommend to those needing to tie up camping gear or organize a mess of cords/cables!

Like most Nite Ize products I have owned, it's so clever that I am amazed no one had come up with it before now. I'm a stickler for cable management. But Velcro ties can be annoying if you either need to get into something or it's a daily driver cable like for a laptop that you use all the time. Enter Gear Ties. Easy to get on or off in a hurry and comes in any color you'll ever want. Coyote brown matches all my gear and black for my desk. Perfect.

These are handy but tend to break down quickly and the rubber tends to rip and begin to tear off. The bigger models tend to hold up better, but these are great for wrapping cables and small objects together.

These twist ties are perfect for corralling charger cords which otherwise would get tangled and knotted. Pliable and easy to use. Reusable. This is my second purchase of these type of ties. I also use them outside in the garden to keep my vines attached to the trellis or other flower supports.

I'm totally digging these things. I've been working with different kinds of organizers to try to get my computer/tablet/phone travel kit better organized. The hardest thing is getting the cables under control. While some of the devices that work to wrap the cord seem to be function for certain types of cords, for others they just seem to add bulk without getting the cord under that much control. That's where a device like this comes into play.The general design is excellent. First off, the rubberized coating makes the GearTie hold on to the cord you're wrapping it around extremely well. Second, the little handles give you a quick way to move them off the cord when you're ready to access it. Because you can reposition the configuration of the GearTie and it will hold that position, you can get things positioned just right within your pack. I also like the ability to use the cord to wrap around bits of the pack to hook things to it. These really hold well. The reusable nature is excellent too. I did find the 3-inch cords a little short for all my needs, but after a little searching I see that they have a 6-inch version too. I'm off to order a couple of those.
