works really well. I thought it did until I had to give little snatch and the dang thing broke. I bought one just like it from harbor freight at the same time and have done the same thing with it and it has held up very well

This product arrived just in time, as I’ve been meaning to drop a few trees on my property. Yet before I could do so I had to wait until the wetlands froze over. Of course all the trees are leaning in the wrong direction so I’m going to need to pull them over as I cut them. While I could do this with a rope, I feel better with a cable. This cable at ⅜ in thickness, is more than capable of doing the job.I uncoiled the cable to look for damage and found none. The cable ends are each double crimped for better security and the self closing latch has a positive snap to it. The hook rotated freely 360 degrees. Now I know a lot of people don't like them, and some people even remove them, but the self closing latches can make a difference. I've seen cables get twisted up and pop out of the hooks before. A situation that is less likely to happen if the cable can't get out of the hook.A tag, with technical information on it (see photo) is attached to the cable. And for users who are self employed this may not matter. But I have seen safety inspectors show up on job sites before, and one of the first things they check for is the tag. If the tag was missing then the cable couldn't be used. There is only one issue I have with the tag, and that is with the reference to the eyes on the ends of the wire. The tag refers to them as Flemish splices. I believe this is incorrect and they are actually aluminum sleeve Turn Back or Return loop eye splices. A Flemish splice is generally stronger and more complicated to produce.(Note)The type of hook on the end of the cable is referred to as a Positioning Swivel Hook. They are made to turn freely, thus allowing a worker to position the hook properly for lifting. But they are not meant to be turned under loadIf the two paragraphs above are incorrect, please let me know and I will edit this review accordingly.
