I'd say this is more a 4.5 than 4. The biggest issue was how tightly the cord was folded in its packaging that caused hard bends, causing a slight fraying to the weave. Prior to winding this, I had to carefully loosen each section that was in a bend and clean up the weave to have it lay flat again. This can really compromise the strength if it was not taken care of.But that was worse thing overall. Bad, yes, but time consuming and fixable. You need to carefully pre-tension on the first winding anyway, so this is something that you would do before you put the weight on and start the spool.So! This was too long for the 2500 on the atv. It looks like that this is intended more for a medium duty winch with a larger spool. More of a note than a complaint. The rope to properly set the wind was a great choice and held really well. The bright color works very well as a limit indicator. On the other end, there is plenty of sleeve to help cover and protect the spool from sunlight and weather.The end loop is one of the more heavy that I have seen and I love it. The tapered splice is set a good 8 inches back and it all should hold up very well in the long term. Though I may swap out the cotter pin to something a bit more rust resistant.In the end, I find this an excellent set to replace an old cable or other synth. I might even consider another length to use as an extension for recoveries and tree work.

It's amazing to think that a nylon rope can handle thousands of pounds of weight so easily over a metal one, and so much safer. This setup was obtained to replace a new steal cable on a side by side winch. There were no instructions provided, but it is a simple Google or YouTube search away (or the winch manufacturer's instructions), for 'how to' replacement of winch rope. Very simple.One thing to remember is that if your old wire cable is worn somewhat it can produce micro burs on the winch drum and fairlead that can be detrimental to your new synthetic rope, so check them carefully before loading up your new rope. This kit is complete with a nice hook, in a heavy coat of black paint, as well as a thick rubber rope stopper with the Allen wrench to install it. Even a high visibility safety pull strap for the hook was included. Quality is evident throughout and even noticed in the way they treated the clevis link for the hook and turned the cotter pin ends in towards themselves so as not to snag or rub any of the product during shipment. Very pleased.

This synthetic winch rope is fantastic! The weight is perfect for winching, hauling or even using this for tie-offs. It comes with a pull strap and a winch stop and Pulsecar says it can handle 8000+ lbs. I haven't come close to that weight load yet, but have used it to pull logs and trees and it works great. For the price you can't beat this winch rope and I am very glad I ordered it. I highly recommend this if you need a lightweight winch rope.

This is a replacement for a steel rope I’m using with my winch on my ATV. I’m a little skeptical if it will last as long as the steel rope but so far it’s done a great job, it’s more flexible, doesn’t have pieces of steel waiting to cut my fingers. The hook is a little small but that can be replaced to a heavy duty one. Overall impressed with its strength and easy of use.
