Nice thick steel with a good powder coat. I ended up mounting this on a backing board painted white as the screw holes did not line up well with where the studs were located in my garage.I decided to purchase this one as the price was attractive, and the other option I was considering was a homemade version using a 2x4 and some wooden dowels. I went the homemade version previously - and that rack is hanging up in the barn. This one seemed appropriate for my attached garage with ski season coming up; and between the price of the lumber and the time needed to build, this ended up being a more economical choice. The only change I would have made to the design is to bring the ski mount positions closer to each other so that when the two racks are hung, there is more space between the skis to allow clearance for the bindings. Basically, ski holder, then pole hook, then ski holder and pole hook versus ski holders at either end and both pole hooks in the middle. To cure the spacing issue, I just installed the racks further apart - which worked since the racks were mounted on a wood backing. This would have have worked for hanging them directly to the studs.

A very useful rack. It's good not just for storing skis (actually probably not so great for that) but also anything you can put on a long hook or rather between 2 long hooks. It's just bare metal rods, so I wouldn't actually recommend putting skis between that as they will get scratched. On the other hands, garage items such as fruit pickers or brooms are quite perfect for this.Another issue here are the drywall anchors this rack comes with. Ideally you'd anchor it directly into studs, but that usually not possible. This is where drywall anchors come in. The thing is that the anchors this rack comes with are trash. They're sufficient for something light (like a broom) but definitely will not hold anything heavy, especially with some leverage (like skis). You're much better off using your own self drilling or butterfly anchors with high weight rating.

Built well easy to assemble. Bought for my son in law who has at least 5 snow boards. He loves it!

Very simple design; well made. Once affixed, it was also used for hockey sticks and gear. Good to have a few of these around!

Works as designed. Super quick install in the garage. No issues with holdinga bit of weight - image shows two of our four pairs of x-country skis. SOmuch better than our old system of leaning skis in a corner and hoping forthe best.

I never thought I’d get wall mounted ski holders until I stumbled upon these as a recommended item. And they are great! In our small storage space these keep the skis nicely out of the way, off the floor, and most importantly they keep them from falling or sliding to the ground when moving things around the basement.
