We wanted to create more organization in our garage while protecting expensive gear like our skis. These have a fairly slim profile and hold the skis well. Only wish they had a space for boots for storage during off season months. We keep boots insured during the winter so they’re not cold and easier to put on. ;)

This stand organizes my skis and poles. Much nicer than having them stacked in a corner.

Expert skier who skis 30+ days/season and owns about 20 pair of skis for the household. While free-standing storage racks like this are useful because you do not need to screw anything into the wall, the flip side is that they don’t function as well with heavily rockered skis. This works better with front-side oriented skis that are narrower and have flat tails. So consider the type of skis you have before deciding if this is the right storage solution for you. On the pricier side but sturdy.

It’s soooo SMALL. Don’t even bother. Not as shown in photos. I should have looked at the dimensions better. Made for 4 yr old skis.

20lb steel ski rack is HEAVY DUTY. From the product pics I had my doubts it would be stable, but because of the bottom-heavy weight and wide legs at the base, even when fully loaded it is stable as a rock. The compartments store the skis vertically at about 85 degrees. Almost 90 degree verticle. So there's not much of a "tipping angle" if you know what I mean. The storage rack can be placed against a wall or free standing. It will not tip over. The ski rack compartments came fully assembled. Just attach the base legs with 4 screws. And the "feet" and you're done.I have the rack set up in the basement to store our skis in the off-season. I then drape an old bed sheet over everything to keep the dust off.The 4 compartment rack is pretty heavy. I can only imagine the steel 8 or 12 compartment rack is even heavier. So measure carefully to be sure you have enough space. Maybe get two, 4-compartment racks instead of one, 8-compartment rack to be more versatile in arrangement and moveability.
