If you're gardening in tilled earth you'll find this just fine. The unit comes disassembled in the box so the poles thread together. However I found the unit a little light weight and so if you're using fluffy tilled earth you'll be fine but if you have compact and hard ground and you're trying to use it as a form of weeding tool I don't think this will work out well for you. But if you're already dealing with earth it's been till then this should work just fine and be quite convenient.Technically you can also unthread the pole and use it as a bit of a hand tool if you had to get down closer to ground.

I expected a sharp steel blade, since the handle is steel. The blade is some kind of plastic, maybe? And not in the least bit sharp.The handle is great, though. It would be cool if the handle came with an option for blade material and quality.

Docking one star because the handle unscrews under heavy use. I solved the issue by replacing the handle with a wooden one and it's well worth it. I live on steep, rocky terrain where digging is a veritable pain. This hoe has been a total MVP. It helps me loosen up the soil so I can then dig and shovel it away. I'm 5'1", 110lbs, and this tool is just right for me — enough heft to get through tough soil, yet just light enough to make swinging it easy. The blade edge is still sharp enough to be cutting right through stubborn roots even though it's been bonked against countless blue stone rocks. If it shipped with a full-size solid handle, it would be a 5-star product, but it would probably also cost more.

I live in an area with clay soil, and when the dirt is dry, it’s tough to dig through. This heavy-duty hoe has made gardening so much easier. I use it to plow, break up the clods, and then flatten the ground. The entire tool is made from stainless steel, giving it durability without being too heavy to handle. Despite its weight, it's still comfortable to work with and gets the job done efficiently.

I really liked the all-metal handle. It felt very sturdy. The problem is that the joints of the handle are screwed together with no way to "lock" them in place. After just a couple uses, the joints start to unscrew.
