I bought this adapter to use with my CampChef two burner stove. The stove came with a proprietary propane cable (small end at stove and standard end adapter that works directly with a 5 lb propane tank. However, I wanted to plug the stove to a propane tree so I can have additional items attached to the propane tank. I have a Coleman gas lantern and a plugs available for my Coleman Roadtrip BBQ grill. The adapter helps me utilize all three (3) to one propane tree, and tank. This adapter works great, was priced well, and installation was super easy. The adapter feels as it will last a long time, it is well made (brass or bronze) material, so far it works well.

Simple device. Tested it on my three burner grill which I normally use a 20 pound tank. When using a 1 pound tank I noticed my hose regulator got really cold. Not sure what to think about that because it did work. If I'm doing the math right, a 20 pound tank is roughly 16 of those small 1 pound tanks. I get my 20 pound tank refilled for $20 and pay about $6 for the disposable 1 pound tanks. Probably won't use it much but I've got it in case I need it.

I wish people would stop giving this a poor rating because propane flows out if you connect it to a small propane bottle first. Um, hello, that is what it is supposed to do! Usually your grill or heater has a regulator, and thus you attach it to that first. If you wanted one with a shut off valve on the adapter spend the extra money to get one with a shut off valve on the adapter. Otherwise it will obviously flow out immediately from the small propane bottle when connected directly to it. THIS IS JUST AN ADAPTER (IT DOESN'T HAVE ITS OWN REGULATOR OR SHUT OFF VALVE BUILT IN.)

FYI, unit has no directions which would be useful since the supply end has a rubber gasket that needed to be removed to attach my hose to this adapters inside thread. That done my hose had it's own gasket on the end to seal and all worked fine without leaks.

Works great! Just be sure to install it on grill side (I.e. regulator side) first.Also, recommend buying the other adapter style to easily fill 1 pound tanks from a 20 pound tank. Recommend YouTube to ensure do it correctly. This second adaptor option pays for itself after refilling just 3 single pound tanks. Overall benefit of buying both adapters: no need to lug around 20 pound tanks anymore and cut cost of single pound tanks by 75%.

Instead of purchasing another propane tank as an emergency BBQ solution , if these 1lbs are available it`s a good plan B
