I had a new fence built and used this lock on my driveway gates. Once installed, it is very low profile. The way my contractor built the gates, you would not even know they were gates from a distance, but for the gate pulls. My neighbor liked it so much, she bought one for her new gate. I think I’ll buy another to use on a shed.

this was used unconcentionally(as a door lock) on outside container storage. had a long enough throw and easy to use

This is a very well made lock but the bar does not lock in place, you can slide it back and forth with your fingers using the knob or by pushing on the bar. the key moves the bar back and forth but does not lock the bar in place on ether side of the throw.

Disappointed. The gatemate lock is heavy and durable and I would give a very good rating if only all the parts were actually in the box. The turn knob was missing.
