The Heavy Duty Steel Drop Rod in 24 inches is exactly what I needed to complete my cedar fence/gate. They're very well made and the hardware was not cheap. Easy install once the pilot holes are made. All in all, very happy with my purchase. April 16, 2022.

While this bar was slightly narrower than the bar I was replacing, it is a sturdy bar that holds my gate closed very effectively. Heavy, sturdy construction and well worth the purchase price, especially since it was difficult to find a bar in this length.

A second mounting sleeve should be included for a drop rod this long. Had to fabricate an upper guide/stop

The included screws are easy to strip at the Phillips head. Be carful when installing them. The anchor rod is strong and easy to use.

Screws may be a little short for a big gate but easily changed. I used self tapping screws mounted on metal frame.

Please note: if you need more than a 3" drop, this may not work for you. The nib/notches are oriented in a way that requires the handle to turn the the rear. This will not work if mounted to a wooden door. The handle will not be able to turn. We had a door that was on a building that sat on a metal rise/base. The rod would not reach the ground
