Replaced the OEM radiator due to leak, so also installed new thermostat, upper/lower hoses, and of course radiator cap. Bought this type with the red-lever pressure release because it matches some of the red accents installed in engine compartment, and was only couple bucks higher than plain silver caps.

Installed on a 2004 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7. Direct replacement for OEM. I will now ALWAYS use the lever type pressure release. It has been a while, but I have on occasion had to remove a cap under pressure. This style cap redirects the release to your overflow tank instead of blasting a geyser of 220+ coolant everywhere, not only potential for burns, but sometime the cap rockets off with the pressure. Do yourself or your mechanic a favor and get the safety lever!

Did not work straight out of the box. First drive w/ the new cap the engine began to overheat within about 3 miles. Engine was not overheating before, I only replaced the cap due to age/ for peace of mind. Luckily I kept the old cap in the car, I had to pull over & change it back on the side of the road. Ran fine again with the old cap. Getting a refund - if I hadn't noticed the temp gauge climbing this $7 trash part could have stranded me or destroyed my engine. Buy a different brand.
