It is a quality tool made by Gearwrench. What more needs to be said ?

Fits my hands well, cuts automotive electrical wire well, yellow handles make them hard to misplace. My only concern is the oxidation that II noticed today on them from the handles to the cutting jaws. They are between 12 to 18 months old and I think that this is a little too soon considering that I wipe down my tools before I put them up. Be certain to oil yours.

These were recommended as a good budget brand. Great quality and comfortable grip.

Needed a snaller set to compliment the larger set I had. Something for tight spaces. The smaller needlenose did the job.I'm usually a fan of the dipped/rubberized covers compared to the plastic/hybrid stuff. These clean up easier and don't get sharp if something impacts or scratches them. The hinge has thus far stayed tight after several days of continual mechanics use. We'll see in the long run, but thus far GW has been decent.

Lifetime warranty. My tool box consists of a lot of gearwrench tools and I've never had any issues. Better than spending quadruple at your local tool truck.

I own many Gearwrench tools. They've become what Craftsman used to be: awesome quality tools that a middle class person can afford to fill their toolbox with. These pliers are no exception to that trend. The machining is fantastic, the action is smooth, and the grips are comfortable and thick. I have no doubt that these will see a ton of action in my workshop.

This is a nice set of pliers. I would say that they are similar to something like Stanley or Home Depot Husky brand. They are a lot nicer than the cheap generic ones, but not as nice as DeWalt or the high end Craftsman ones or similar brands.I like the grippy jaw tooth pattern on these. You can see it in one of my pictures. There is a little play between the two parts that keep them from being as smooth as the nicer ones. These are fine for my needs, though. If you need pliers, I recommend that you compare some prices and consider these along with others. You can never have too many pliers.

I'm willing to argue that it's a good practice for any homeowner to have a set of pliers stashed away somewhere in every room of their house. The utility of pliers may often outweigh necessity, but if you've ever been in a jam without the appropriate tools, you know necessity and absence is a disappointing inconvenience. Enter the GearWrench Universal plier. I have several pliers that live in a tool chest in my garage. I keep a couple pairs in my office, as well. When I saw the Universal pliers, I had to get a set. These have replaced three sets of pliers in my office and have effectively saved a bit of drawer space and sanity. The rubber grip handles are perfect! Too many of today's pliers have thick rubber grips on them, and while I agree that's a nice touch and it makes the pliers look great, I've found those grips slip off easily and make the pliers difficult to use. The rubber dipped handles are far superior even if they don't offer as much forgiveness in the cushion department for your hands. Overall, these are the perfect pliers. They are infinitely useful, and I'd recommend them. Even if you have several sets already, but this Universal model and don't look back!
