Very nice small hammer for use around the garage. The only drawbacks to these hammers for American users is that they are all measured in grams so it is difficult picturing how large the hammer will be when you order it. I bought the 300 gram hammer for small tasks, but the 200 gram version may have been better for my needs. Either way it's a very high quality tool that feels great in the hand and does what it's supposed to do. I'm sure it will be around for the rest of my life and I look forward to using it.

This hammer is extremely well made. The head is well forged and finished with great handle ergonomics. The red neck collar is steel, not rubber or plastic, and the head is held on by a torx head bolt for easy handle replacement when needed. My only disappointment, and it's a preference vs an actual issue with the product, is the handle is ash and not hickory. You can confirm this if the handle says "esche" which is German for Ash. Otherwise it will say hickory. Don't get me wrong, ash is very much an acceptable tooling wood and the seller description notes it may be either, but it just doesn't have the same hardness and elasticity of hickory. Everything else in this hammer is top quality and as such I would have loved to see hickory over the close #2 in ash. Again small personal gripe but just my 2 cents.I would buy this again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it if your looking for a top-quality blacksmith hammer.

This is a very high quality hammer and as well finished as my other Gedore hammers. The head is a beautiful forging and the handle is just rough enough to provide a solid grip, but not feel abrasive. This version is not induction hardened, but it must be high carbon as it emits a wonderful high pitched ping on impact. One thing to note is that this is a heavyweight hammer with a proportionally large handle. If you have smaller hands (anything less than mens large glove size) you may struggle with maintaining a grip.

I have had awesome luck with German made tools so far and this one is great with one exception.I wish the wood handle was finished smoother. It's a little too rough for my liking which isn't a big deal cause I'll be fixing it but that will take off all the paint and logos which have a cool asthetic but 🤷 I'll also be polishing the face of the hammer as well.

Best hammer I've ever used as a Tin Knocker in Los Angeles. My third and I've had a malco Tinners hammer that was 50$. That one isn't heavy enough. This 800 g hammer is amazing and this hammer is sturdy

Engineer's style hammer, meet Gedore's German design and quality. What else is there to say? All you need to do is know how heavy you need the hammer to be, then buy it, and ENJOY!

I am amazed at the quality of German tools. This doesn't disappoint. A little heavy if you want to swing it all day. The 500g-600g sizes are better for that depending on your arm strength. H stands for hickory wood handle, E for ash, IH for induction hardened hammer head and end.

This is a very good hammer. I bought it for my blacksmith workshop at my home. I also use it where i work as a stainless steel fabricator. Its a handy compact sledge. First job was to apply paint remover and strip off the varnish and paint from the ash handle. Then rub in linseed oil. This has become my favourite tool in the shop.
