I got this to satisfy my curiosity, and it works. I suppose it would be up to you to interpret the data it provides. I could see actual applications for my work now that I have it.

Since I was an Army NBC Operator during the cold war, I've always wanted a geiger counter: paranoid I guess. After finding them really expensive, I was considering building one on my own: Until I found this one that is.Not sure of the calibration, but it does detect the presence of radiation which is all I really wanted.Give peace of mind. Although, I'm still not going on holiday to Chernobyl, despite the cut-rate hotel charges.

I think for some people this is important. Good luck buying and "calibrating" other sensors at this point in time. I have calibrated across the three sensors and they appear to be equivalent. If you are reading this then you know a bunch ..I will note I trust nuke alert...the other two. IMHO, require two units. But this one does appear to work correctly.
