I use these as hand rails and stair swivel points and they work perfectly. I used to get them at Home Depot and paid 2X the price for half the amount of product, PLUS had to wait a week for them to get shipped to store, but not anymore. From now on, I’m getting these from this seller. They are sleek, sturdy, pretty, easy to use, fast shipping, and so much cheaper for the same great quality.

Wow, great product, super clean, nice finish. Cheaper than Lowe’s or Home Depot. Not as thick as gas pipe (black pipe) but not intended to be used for that. Threading is standard fitting size. Would highly recommend this company.

As the headline says, these are not recommended for pipe clamp use. They are not cast iron, and are thin steel painted with a smooth finish which does not allow the non-threaded clamp end hold firm while not under pressure. I also noticed that while under pressure, the pipes would flex slightly. They're great for structural and/or architectural use, though.

This pipe is not "Black Iron Pipe" . It is a lite weight conduit type tubing. It has a shiny surface like conduit painted black with a thick plastic-like coating that makes it difficult for the clamp teeth to bite into. I dropped a clamp on the pipe resulting id a dented pipe. The second time I used 5 of the 6 pipes as clamps 2 pipes failed as the tubing pulled apart at the threads leaving threads in the clamp. Not only do I have to stop my project and replace the purchased "Pipe"with some real black iron pipe. but I must purchase 2 new clamps. This stuff would,I think, be ok for decorative work but not to support weight or wood clamps.i droped

I have used the "real" black pipe for previous shelves I have built in the past but this was the first time using this specific less expensive product. I was skeptical if I would be able trust this product to hold some expensive items on the shelves. To my pleasant surprise upon receiving this pipe and the different fittings I found the pipes more than strong enough to ease my apprehension. While this certainly is thinner material it is more than strong enough IMO to use for shelving and looks just as good as the real stuff for about half the price. I will buy this product again.

I like the very clean, painted black look that these have vs standard black pipe with an rough, oil finish, however, I ordered 6 of these and they were all wrapped together. The finish came scratched where they rubbed together during shipping. They could have added some packing between or wrapped them individually in plastic. If you want them to be pristine, beware.
