This outside caliper is made of forged steel and meets government specification GGG=C-95. It has tempered bow springs and fulcrum spools for uniform tension with no side play. Take a look around the internet to see what a divider like this would cost from another maker... like over $50.00 on some sites... I'm sure they are machined better, shiny, and have a premium logo to let everyone know you are a professional making money as a woodworker or just rich.This is well worth the money. It is accurate and the poor wood workers choice... that's me.

I wasn't expecting much for the low price, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are sturdy, well built, and accurate. I used to be a professional, but now I'm a hobbyist woodworker, so I lean towards cheaper tools now if I can get away with it.If you're a pro, go with something like the Starrett's as they would hold up for years of daily use. If you're a hobbyist, these will do fine for you and probably last a lifetime if treated properly.

I am always trying to feel the back of a piece of metal or something and try to drill a hole there by estimating where on the other side. This eliminates the guess work and adds a little precision. Works great for marking location on a blind side like that. Seems accurate but, I'm not using it for measurements.

These were a great value, but not as sturdy as I'd hoped, they flex a bit more than I like but stay adjusted where I put them.

Good product. Sharp. The overall length is 8 inches but the blades are 6 inches. They do what supposed to do. I use them every day. Easy to use.

These are very good calipers for the money. The finish is a bit rough, but nothing a little sandpaper cannot clean up.

No comments for this flat leg divider---a simple tool that's been properly manufactured. General Tools and Instruments usually seem to produce reasonably priced equipment that is of adequate quality for most uses.

Good quality, feels solid, works great happy with purchase. Comes covered in an oily grease to prevent rust, so you’ll need to clean it after unpackaging. Would buy again and recommend it to others.

Great product at an incredible price. It's huge, very sturdy, does the job perfectly. A lot better than paying several times more for other divider that would do exactly the same, and hardly as sturdy as this one. Couldn't be happier.
