• EXCELFU generator interlock kit is a device designed to allow safe back feeding of a home by a portable generator during a power outage. This eliminates unsafe generator back feeding situations that could potentially electrocute electric power company workers or destroy the generator. When an interlock switch is installed, it prevents the generator circuit breaker and the main circuit breaker from both being on at the same time. An generator interlock kit is a safe and cost-effective way to ensure you're using a portable generator safely.
• EXCELFU generator interlock kit consist of two metal plate and interlock together by three bolts. When move down, the plate stop the generator back feed circuit breaker and allows the main breaker to remain on. When move up, the generator back feed circuit breaker may be turned on but the main circuit breaker is blocked and will remain off.

This kit was reasonably complete, and was easy to install. Therefore, it easily earns a 4 star minimum. It is well constructed, looks good, and is priced reasonably. So, we'll go ahead and give it 5 stars. However, I was on the fence, and would give it 4.5 due to the terseness of install instructions.One install note: The wire tie usage wasn't clearly explained (or really explained at all) in the provided instructions. The NEC requires breakers which are "pluggable" (not mechanically secured) as in most residential load centers in the USA, must be secondarily mechanically secured when used as a supply power as is the case with a generator backfeed breaker. See NEC 408.36D: "Plug-in-type overcurrent protection devices or plug-in type main lug assemblies that are backfed and used to terminate field-installed ungrounded supply conductors shall be secured in place by an additional fastener that trequires other than a pull to release the device from the mounting means on the panelboard."This is important information to ensure the user/installer understands the reason and requirement for securing the breaker to its horizontally adjacent neighbor; the purpose of the zip tie is to ensure that the breaker cannot be unplugged. If you secure the zip tie in a manner that the breaker can still be freely unplugged (e.g. connected to its vertically adjacent neighbor), then you have failed in the PURPOSE of the wire tie usage.

Fits fine on my Easton BR 200A panel. Comes with a drillbit and necessary parts for installation. Minimal play and doesn't allow either breaker to be on at the same time. Very cost effective way to keep you and the lineman safe.

This interlock kit works great with my Eaton panel. It was easy to install and gives me peace of mind knowing my generator won't backfeed power to the grid. The instructions were clear, and the kit includes everything you need for a proper installation.

Product as advertised. Follow the directions, and the install is easy. The one tip I would give is to work your way up to the drill bit they send. I went up 4 sizes from very small to the enclosed bit. Works well, and very reasonably priced.

Works perfectly and a fraction of the cost of the OEM and similar models. The instructions are not entirely clear, as it is obvious, they were written by someone who is not an English speaker. In my case they were upside down too. But I figured it out and installed it and it works perfectly. Being made of aluminum is better for me than steel. As my service panel is outside some kind of rust or corrosion is inevitable.
