Fairly easy to assemble, Attractive And Sturdy, Screw driver was supplied but I found a power tool was easier

This was better than expected. It was bigger than I expected and holds a lot of vegetables. Nice color too. Natural

I am very pleased with this planter box. The pieces were well machined, fitting together well and built a sturdy planter box. Two suggestions for assembly: there is one point where you need to screw into the end grain of the cross support. Although the company has inserted a threaded insert into the end grain, the wood is too soft for it to adequately hold the bolt. I suggest gluing the joint with a gap filling construction adhesive such as liquid nails to insure a strong bond. Second suggestion is to apply a few coats of exterior polyurethane finish to the whole box to give it some moisture protection. This will help it last longer. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of this item.

I'll be using this for some baby lima bean plants. I'm getting too old for all the bending over required to weed and harvest them in the ground. They are fairly shallow rooted and can be grown close together. I also have some borage and other herbs that will be mixed with the beans. It comes with a phillips (crosspoint) screwdriver, but I used a cordless drill/screwdriver that makes the process go MUCH faster. There are a lot of screws to install. All screw holes are pre-drilled, so the outer board doesn't add screw friction when installing the screws. All holes are countersunk so there aren't any screwheads sticking out to catch on.The side boards fit into slots on the legs using 3 screws per board end. I would have normally used wood glue in addition to the fasteners, but I didn't even think about using it until I had all the screws and the liner installed. I still will probably disassemble and add the glue as it really extends the life span (seals moisture out of joints) and greatly increases the joint strength. The wood is fairly soft. Didn't realize how soft it was until using the thumb tacks to secure the liner. Didn't even use my tack hammer as they pushed into the wood very easily. It was only slightly harder than when using a cork bulletin board. The wood is of minimal thickness so don't over tighten the screws or the stress may split it. The overall wood quality is reasonable with only a few small knots. The lower shelf is very convenient.

Nice planter but had to repair a cracked board. Normally I would have returned this item but it ment repacking and shipping a heavy item which at time is very difficult to repack. Very soft wood made it difficult for the screws to tighten do I applied wood glue for added strength. Time will tell on the products durability.

This is our second raised garden bed. We love them. We currently are growing strawberries in the planter box. The box is easy to assemble and holds up very well. The garden bed is very attractive looking and we have received several compliments on how great it looks. Also, with the raised bed, you don't have to bend down to pull weeds out and we've noticed that we don't get weeds in it like you do on the ground beds. The product works as designed. We recommend the GHWIE Raised Garden Bed to anyone wanting to grow in a raised bed.

I live in the woods surrounded by wildlife. I love watching the deer but I don't love what they do to my garden. Before I had big pots lined up on the porch to keep them away from the animals. But bending over to tend to them was becoming to much of a strain on my back. This is perfect for my porch garden. I can easily access everything and won't have my stuff stolen by wildlife! Everything you need to assemble is included. I used a cordless screwdriver so it was pretty quick. But I could see it being cumbersome if screwing it together by hand. It looks nice as well, much nicer than a bunch of pots lined up. It works great for me!

I ordered this to use on my upstairs covered porch to keep deer from eating my plants. It assembles very easily (20 minutes or so). The instructions are clear and easy to follow. They even include a hand screwdriver, but there are a lot of screws so a power screwdriver is a huge time saver! The pre-drilled holes line up well and are even countersunk! The wood is fir. It is very soft. Most carpenters do not recommend fir for use outdoors, so coating this with sealer or paint would really help the longevity of it. Also, the lower shelf could use additional support. It will only support the lightest of items. I will be adding a perpendicular slat under the center of the "shelf" to solve that issue. There are many exposed screws as well.I ordered this in hopes it would last a season or two until I can build permanent raised beds in my yard. I think this may last that long by sealing the exterior and waterproofing the interior. But I would not consider this to be a long term solution by any means. If you are looking for a short term solution and are willing to spend $80+ to get it, then this is a good choice. If you want something that will last for the long term then I would keep looking.
